QSI follows SecureAssure™, a security methodology that simplifies the evaluation of Information Security Management by making comparisons against the three pillars of security--confidentiality, integrity, and availability, as defined by industry best practices.

This methodology allows QSI to use a unique method to express business risk to an organization. Called Weighted Business Risk (WBR), WBR allows for the expression of the risks associated with a given vulnerability as a percentage. Based on Insurance actuary tables, this percentage is determined using two meta factors, which are comprised of various data collected by our Information Security think tank, MSI:Knowledge.

Each identified finding is analyzed for the inherent risk that the vulnerability represents to the organization (based on factors such as service interruption, data to be exploited, and trust relationships) and the exploitability of that vulnerability by a common attacker.

The WBR represents a real world exposure that is relational in nature. For example, a given vulnerability with a WBR of 50% is ten times more likely to cause damage to an organization than vulnerability with a WBR of 5%.
